DMG vs. Attack Speed vs. Crit chance

Talking auto-attackers and achieving maximum DPS.

Did anyone dig deep into the question what is the best way to invest your Card Power? I saw a spreadsheet with calculations on DMG versus Attack Sped. But there is one more parameter impacting damage output - Crit chance. I'm already looking into this but is there anyone else doing the same exercise?

The results I have so far (for TwinBlast) seems to indicate that you should invest into Crit slightly more that into Attack Sped.

With the Nitro skill being relatively cheap, you can keep that skill active very frequently while having enough mana to nuke with Barrage and escape with Rocket Dash, so I invest heavily into crit %. Typically Blade of Agora maxed as my 1st card is what I do, since it automagically gives you 50% crit once maxed, so I throw some DPS cards on there (strikes). That's a pretty solid 1st card as it gives me massive boost in crit and decent DPS. My next set is an investment deeper into crit, then my 3rd is more crit with some DPS. End game I am critting around 400+....now I haven't crunched the numbers, but heavy crit seems to work GREAT for me. When you can get a Nitro active for speed with crits of 400+, doesn't take much to send anyone running.

Long answer, and sorry I don't have exact numbers to support, but I invest heavily into crit and it works out good for me. Not sure at what point it's overkill though....I'll start on a documentation for it too, and we'll compare notes!

@Brosciple, good answer. I'm with you about 1st picking the Blade. And you actually reminded me that I haven't added my breakdown here.

I'll do it tomorrow and eill be looking for your numbers to compare.

If playing Dragon Age has shown me anything, it's that you need to balance your stats. I'd go with 2 Spear of the Rifthunter for Crit Chance, 1 Blade of Agora for Crit Damage, 1 Rust-Breaker for Damage + Penetration (or Impact Hammer for Damage + Crit Chance) and 2 Windcarver Blades for Attack Speed.

Found an AWESOME spreadsheet that some Reddit user has already done, check it out!

My goodness, just checkout the Reddit article, there are a bunch of spreadsheets users did with valuable information.

@Brosciple, I saw that one and didn't find it answering the question of this topic.

So here is what I have come up with - G-Spreadsheet. It states where to put each CP you have - to DMG, AS or Crit. Did it for ranged auto-attackers but it can be updated for melee ones as well.

@Feenyx, yep. It seems to me that in Paragon we have the same thing.

@George You made an error on your spreadsheet. Twinblast's attack speed hits the maximum at 95.

@Feenyx, how do you calculate this? What formula do you use and what values?
