Sony PS3 Yellow Light of Death – How to Fix it in Less Than 3 Hours

Do you own a PS3? Is your ps3 suffering from the dreaded and infamous Sony PS3 yellow light of death? Are you looking for ways to fix it not just temporarily but permanently? Would you like to get rid of that annoying faint yellow light, red light and three blinks you hear every time you boot the game? Did you know that you don’t have to wait for weeks before you can get your precious ps3 back? Here are a few tips on things you could do to have it up and running within 3 hours.

1. Using the Hair Dryer

Most of the time, the Sony PS3 yellow light of death happens as a result of hardware failure and too much heat which melts some of the soldered components on the board resulting in a malfunction.

The PS3 manual says that if this happens, leave the console to cool and start again, Unfortunately, research and experience have proven that this doesn’t work. So, here’s what you can do to start the process.

Get a hair dryer, turn it on and aim it at the console or the vents. The aim of this is to melt the and hopefully reattach the melted solder. Move the hair dryer back and forth for about 25 minutes and then let it cool.

2. Blow-Dry the Console

Many people don’t do this right. Usually, they just allow the console cool. This is wrong. Instead, blow-dry the console using a fan or put it near an AC so that it gets cooled enough. Do this for another 15-25 minutes. After you’re done with this, put the console on again.
