Gideon's primary advantage is getting in undetected and using his ultimate to deal massive damage and draw people in, making you extremely vulnerable to other ultimates from the opposing team. As steel, the main initiator for your team you need to seek out and harass enemies like Gideon, using your Shield Slam (R/Triangle) to stun and Charge (Q/Square) to knock him into your team, this might sound counter intuitive due to his ultimate, but if your team is paying attention he'll be dead long before he's a threat. Gideon has a strong escape mechanic so it's important to be ready to throw down a Shield Wall (E/Circle) to slow him for your team.
